June 2023 Summary

It is now the afternoon of July 18, different times, the same place. The summary for June is belated, but this is not a so-called task; it is just my own monthly record, so in principle, I can write it whenever I want, and there’s no need to feel ashamed about being a few days late... right? I have been thinking about the relationship between living in the present and reflecting on the past. Since the only thing we can grasp is the now, what can reminiscing about the past bring to the present? Thus, I naturally thought of Descartes. Although the past is an unreturnable past, memories of the past occur in the present, and this is something that truly happens at this moment, so through this, I can feel my own real existence. This is "I think, therefore I am."

Starting with metaphysical philosophy, this is also a new style attempt, I suppose w(

Back to the point, June was mostly a time without exams, and the internship only started on July 1, so the whole of June was a rare experience of "being on break at school." In early June, the main event was the shopping spree during the 618 promotion; I bought a Bluetooth headset and a Hanwang N10 mini e-reader (very useful, not an advertisement, haha); as for Children's Day on June 1... I don't know when I stopped celebrating it. In late June, I mainly focused on organizing the dormitory and preparing for the heat treatment competition (the results of the competition are good news, but I will discuss that in next month's summary). The summer in Wuhan is very hot, very humid, and the rain is heavy. It is said that there used to be many more lakes in Wuhan than there are now, but they were filled in to build houses, so when it rains, those areas turn back into lakes.

At the end of June (specifically from June 24 to June 27), it was Bao's trip to Wuhan, and I was part of it. Although it didn’t rain those days, it was extremely hot, making it very difficult to step out of the air-conditioned room. Even so, we still visited many places: Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street, the ferry, the art museum, East Lake... leaving behind many memorable moments.

Soon it was July, and the beginning of July was marked by a high fever, quite exciting, of course, that will be discussed in the next issue. As I write this, another unreturnable June has come to an end. 👋
