It is now the evening of March 16, 2024, exactly a month since I last wrote a summary. The plan to write a summary at the beginning of the month has once again fallen through, becoming a lingering thought during my busy mid-month. However, this thought, as a reminiscence and concern in life, is beneficial to me, so I have continued to hold onto it until now.
Back to early February, the reason for going to City G for the New Year was that my uncle was unwell and recuperating in City Y, while my younger brother wanted to go on vacation. The family was busy with various matters, but I had a little free time and thought about Bao being in City G, so I happily went. The story that followed was a pleasant holiday life, where I saw the landmark tower at HC Square, visited the provincial museum, library, Dongshan Kou... Time spent with Bao was always joyful yet fleeting. Interestingly, I found a hidden pentagram puzzle in the library, and it wasn't until today that I found the pentagram (yay). Another amusing incident was when Bao and I were kicked out of the children's section of the bookstore for reading "The Little Prince." Besides playing, of course, there was also eating; the local dim sum was delicious, and we had plenty of seafood. On New Year's Eve, we set off fireworks by the sea, and in the following days, we visited various attractions, rode jet skis, and built sandcastles. I enjoyed a carefree time until February 15, when I returned home and then met up with three or five friends to reminisce about old times. Among them was a friend, LLX, who was drunk and talked about everything, leaving in high spirits.
These memories were aided by photos; people can easily forget, even events that happened just a month ago. I only have fragmented memories now, and I can't say for sure that my recollections align perfectly with the actual events. Without photos, these memories might be even more blurred. I always want to capture certain moments, but I know that time passes relentlessly. Márquez once said in "One Hundred Years of Solitude": "All the brilliance that has existed in life ultimately needs to be repaid with loneliness." (Whether this quote truly comes from "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is yet to be verified.) So I record my life to the fullest; perhaps one day I won't be able to move, or perhaps I will find myself in a place completely deserted, and that loneliness will remind me of the brilliance I once had.
Another winter vacation has ended, and I have returned to school. The brief spring in Wuhan reminds me that March has arrived, with early cherry blossoms and magnolias about to bloom. My graduation project schedule is also mercilessly approaching, so I have a lot to do during this period. The plan for the year lies in spring. See you next time.
