March 2025 Summary

It is now April 18th, and as the old saying goes, in principle, summaries should be written at the beginning of the month. However, I almost always find time to write only in the middle of the month, feeling quite ashamed of myself. I’ll set a flag and promise that next month’s summary will definitely be completed during the May Day holiday.

Let’s go back to March 23rd, which was a Sunday with not-so-bright sunshine and even some rain. However, the spring outing of the research group that had already been planned couldn’t just be canceled, so we had to go through with it. As expected, this spring outing was quite awkward and boring. Although there was barbecue, drinks, and music, everyone only interacted within their small groups, and with the boss present, it was hard to relax; it was just a matter of eating and drinking. That said, at least the spring outing was better than having a large group meeting, which is the most boring thing in the world. After enduring a week of work, we welcomed the Qingming Festival holiday. On the day before the holiday, there was a strange excitement in the office. Everyone was still typing away, but in reality, their souls had already entered holiday mode, just waiting for the clock to strike off work to take off.

I had already booked my ticket to City Y (note: tickets for the May Day holiday are much harder to grab than for the weekend), so my happy spring outing with Bao began. I always thought City Y was just a huge wholesale market, but when I actually arrived, I found it truly was a massive wholesale market, with rich folks everywhere. We first went to the hospital for a health check as planned, then prepared to play a murder mystery game, but as the old saying goes, plans can’t keep up with changes. At that moment, my phone accurately pushed a notification about a nearby flower field, and just looking at the pictures made me want to go, so the plan changed to spending the day at the flower field instead of doing the murder mystery. It turned out that big data can occasionally do good things; there were vast fields of various spring flowers, as well as experiences like a carousel, archery, and go-karting. The carousel was a must-ride since we were already there; for archery, about half of my shots missed, but in the end, I managed to hit the nine-ring with a bit of effort. The go-karting was quite successful, and Bao's driving skills were very smooth and skilled. Although there was a hiccup when the ticket seller gave us a few fewer tickets, they made it up later, so it wasn’t too regrettable. Speaking of regrets, life has to show its divine power; I thought it would be a perfect trip, but in the end, there was a small regret (or perhaps a foreshadowing), which was that the iron flower show in the evening was canceled due to equipment issues. I have never seen the iron flower show, and Bao missed it twice as well, but I believe we will see it eventually. A trip must leave some regrets; otherwise, what reason would there be to come back?

After returning to school from the Qingming holiday, the post-holiday syndrome lasted for several days, and I only recently got back into work mode. However, the May Day holiday is not far away, so work can take a back seat for now.
